Not playing Live Youtube Videos

I have been watching Live youtube videos for about a year (Sky News For example). Now when I try and watch a live stream video it just keeps repeating the same 5 seconds over and over again. Is this a glitch or have you or youtube stopped this from happening?

Hey thanks for your feedback. I can confirm there is currently an issue with YT live streams. Working on a fix…

Hi Catch, this is a tricky one since there seems to be no way to detect from YouTube’s player whether a video is live or not. But I’ll keep working on it. Maybe a manual “live mode” could be a solution.

ANY UPDATES ON THIS? i STILL CANT WATCH LIVESTREAMS? ITS JUST BUFFERING CONSTANTLY.

You are right, this is an annoying limitation… but i just rolled out an update. You can now enable a “Livestream mode” in the player settings. When enabled for a video, it will play at the most current position and should no longer skip back and forth. Could you give it a try and let me know if it works for you?
